Iana Matei (C), a Romanian psychologist who takes care of minors who have been victims of human trafficking is embraced by some of the girls there at the reception center near Pitesti city, southern Romania on January 27, 2017. At the reception center set up near Pitesti by the "Reaching Out" association eleven teenagers watch TV, embroidery or tease each other about their favorite stars. All to forget the sufferings. According to official figures, 695 victims of trafficking were identified in 2016 in Romania, compared with 880 the previous year. Most are exploited by networks of Romanian traffickers operating in Italy, Spain, Germany and France. Some of them managed to escape, but "it is mainly NGOs working on the ground who identify them and help them to return to their country," said the psychologist who saw about 500 victims in her center. / AFP PHOTO / DANIEL MIHAILESCU / TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY Mihaela RODINADANIEL MIHAILESCU/AFP/Getty Images
