Stop Seeking a Date,
Start Seeking a Life
By Terrey L. Hatcher
If you find that all you can think about is getting a date, maybe you need to get a life! No, don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying you shouldn’t want someone special in your life. But instead of constantly looking and yearning, you might try a different tactic.
Try looking for new activities in your own life to keep you from getting bored and lonely. Try keeping yourself busy rather than spending all your time seeking someone else to get busy with!
After all, wouldn’t you rather be doing an activity you love than tagging along with someone else on their hobby of choice? Of course, you can be flexible, but take matters into your own hands if you want a full, fun life!
Explore Your Interests
Think about it this way...if you get involved with a group of people who like to dance, you’re more likely to meet a potential date who also likes to shake it. But if you just use a dating app and find someone online, that person might like to go rock climbing or ride dirt bikes instead. Would you try it for their sake? Maybe, or maybe not. Would you enjoy it? Maybe, or maybe not.
Also, if you have your dancing buddies already lined up, then you can go off and tango or shag while your date climbs or bikes. Even better is the possibility that you attract a date who likes to do the things you like to do.
Expand Your Options
But don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Try different sports or creative groups. Go to different social venues. Variety will liven things up and expand your options for meeting more people who have similar tastes. Plus you’ll figure out what types of activities energize you and make you happier.
When you have more going on in your life, you’re more likely to attract interesting people as friends or potential dates. Why? Because you have more to talk about. You’re more interesting. You give off more positive energy when you’re doing things you enjoy. You don’t seem to be desperately seeking someone anymore and instead you’re happily having a life. Independence and confidence make you sexy!
It just makes sense, doesn’t it? If you want more action in your life, get active. If you want more friends in your life, reach out and be a friend. If you want to be more interesting, show an interest. If you want more love, give love. Go! Do! Be happy!
