HOW Often Should You Weigh Yourself?Here's an easy diet trick: Weigh yourself every day. The more frequently you weigh yourself, the more weight you will lose, according to researchers from Tampere University of Technology in Finland. Why? By keeping a close eye on even minor weight fluctuations, you can quickly get back on track and prevent future weight gain.
The study: Led by Elina Helander, the team followed a group of 40 overweight people for one year, analyzing 2,838 weigh-ins. All the participants were dieting.
Keeping close track of your weight allows you to identify which foods cause weight gain. For this to work, however, you need to get a digital scale that is accurate to two-tenths of a pound.
Fun fact: Since weekend weigh-ins can show dramatic gains or losses, pay close attention to your weight on Wednesday. This is a more consistent indication of your true weight.
