FIU defensive coordinator Guy leaving program
Florida International defensive coordinator Brent Guy is leaving the program after two seasons for personal reasons, the school announced Tuesday.
"We are grateful for all Brent has done for this program over the past two seasons," head coach Butch Davis said. "He helped lay the groundwork for this program and played an integral part of our success. With his help, we went to back-to-back bowl games and set a program record in wins. The FIU family wishes Brent and his family the very best for the future."
Guy's relationship with Davis dates to the 1980s when the pair were at Oklahoma State, Guy as a player and Davis as an assistant.
Guy's defenses powered FIU to its best two-year run in program history, including a 9-4 campaign last year that led to the Golden Panthers playing in the Bahamas Bowl.
FIU has yet to name a replacement for Guy, 58.
