Bruins G Rask leaves game after hit to head
Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask sustained an injury early in the first period of Tuesday's game at the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Rask was injured 1:12 into the first period after he was hit in the head by the left glove of Columbus forward Emil Bemstrom, who was being pushed from behind by Boston defenseman Brandon Carlo. The former Vezina Trophy recipient remained on the ice for several moments before retreating to the dressing room.
Jaroslav Halak, who played in the Bruins' 6-5 shootout loss to Philadelphia on Monday, entered the game in place of Rask.
The Bruins announced prior to the second period that Rask would not return to the game.
Rask, who did not face an official shot on goal, entered the contest with a 17-4-6 record, two shutouts, a 2.27 goals-against average and .925 save percentage this season.
