ALTADENA, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 15: Morris Allen, 82, watches television in his hotel room after being evacuated from his apartment complex during the Eaton Fire on January 15, 2025 in Altadena, California. Multiple wildfires fueled by intense Santa Ana Winds are burning across Los Angeles County, with at least 25 dead, more than 12,000 structures destroyed or damaged, and 40,000 acres burned. More than 88,000 people remain under evacuation orders as high winds are forecast. "I went to sleep the night before and didn't wake up until 10 am the next morning. All the lights went out, so I went to sleep because there was nothing else to do. Everybody was already gone by the time I woke up. When I woke, I saw the all fire burning from my window. When I saw the smoke closer, that's when I decided to leave. They said they knocked on my door, which they probably did, but I was probably asleep. It's my fault that I didn't hear them," said Allen. Over 9,000 structures have been damaged or burned while more than more than 25,000 acres were burning from the fires. (Photo by Brandon Bell/Getty Images)
