FILE: The Trump Administration has moved to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), an independent government organization that provides humanitarian relief and works to alleviate global poverty. The new U.S. administration has imposed a 90-day freeze on foreign aid, closed USAID’s headquarters, and announced that most "direct hire personnel will be placed on administrative leave globally."
